5 Delizioso Meals Using Cirio Passata!
Tomatoes are a chef’s dream - versatile, delicious, and packed full of vitamin goodness! Cirio’s range of tomato Passata harnesses all of the deep, rich flavour of Italian tomatoes, making them the staple ingredient for authentic Italian dishes. Here are 5 of the best to see you through the week…
1. Warm Vegetable Tartlet in Rich Tomato Sauce
For a real winter warmer, try this tartlet packed with flavour and covered in a velvety tomato sauce… Heat chopped peppers, chopped courgette and chopped onion in a little olive oil before piling onto a baked puff pastry base with chopped carrot, sliced leek and smoked ricotta. Bake for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, heat up Cirio Passata (500g) with olive oil and seasoning, before pouring onto your finished tartlet - perfetto!
2. Risotto di Pavia (Pavia Style!)
From the North of Italy comes this tasty dinner... Boil half a chopped onion, borlotti beans, celery and salt for an hour before blending into a sauce. Saute the remaining half of the onion in a little olive oil and add Cirio Passata Classica (PET bottle). Place both sauces into a pan and add vegetarian white wine, stock and risotto rice. Simmer and gently stir until the rice is cooked, before finishing with a sprinkling of vegetarian Parmesan-style cheese!
3. The Perfect Pizza
Your favourite toppings deserve the perfect base… Heat up Cirio Passata (200g) with some oregano, chopped garlic and seasoning for 10 minutes. Spread onto a pizza base, and top with mozzarella and vegetarian Parmesan-style cheese. Top with your favourite ingredients - we love roasted peppers, olives and capers!
4. Gnocchi al Pomodoro
This classic Italian staple is so simple and perfect for a quick-fix midweek dinner! Simmer Cirio Passata Napoletana (PET bottle) with basil leaves, chopped garlic and seasoning for 10 minutes. Boil the gnocchi until it floats to the top of the water, then drain and combine with the tomato sauce!
5. Cream of Tomato Soup
Full of goodness, this speedy soup will become your supper staple for these cold, winter evenings.. Blend chunks of carrots and onions until finely chopped. Heat crushed garlic in a little olive oil before adding cubed potato, Cirio Passata (680g bottle) and the carrot and onion mix, as well as water and seasoning. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, finish with a sprinkle of vegetarian Parmesan-style cheese and serve with croutons.
