8 Movie Snacks to Make this Halloween
The best way to face your fears is to eat them… so they say. It’s Halloween and that means one thing – pumpkin carving for all and a lot of leftovers to make delicious veggie meals out of. If you're planning an evening of freaky films then we’ve compiled a list of the perfect spooky treats to devour alongside (they’re to die for).
1. Bat Bites
These delicious, chocolatey bats will fly off the table before you can say boo! Instead of chocolate vermicelli and dessicated coconut, you could use chopped nuts or seeds for a healthy crunch.
2. Pumpkin Cupcakes
These pumpkin-inspired cupcakes are a monstrously good Halloween treat. Bake your own cupcakes by weighing three eggs and simply mixing together the same weight in butter, caster sugar and self-raising flour, then baking until golden brown. Leave these to cool and pipe on the orange icing to make some sweet little Halloween treats.
3. One hell of a Ghost Cocktail
While the kids devour their sweet goodies, the adults can sit back and relax with this spooky concoction.
4. Day of the Dead Biscuits
Go wild with colourful icing, this one’s great for the kids to make, too. Use some dried fruit alongside icing for easy decorations.
5. Halloween Cupcakes
Add some cocoa nibs or dried fruit into the mix for a tasty Halloween surprise on the inside of these cupcakes.
6. Pumpkin Filo Triangles
These parcels may not look scary but they are insanely delicious. Eat them warm and dip them in some homemade guacamole and spicy salsa tonight, or devour them cold for lunch tomorrow.
7. Caramel Apples
Toffee apples are a heavenly tradition this time of year and we love to dip them in tasty toppings, from sesame seeds to cocoa nibs, pistachio nuts to dried cranberries.
8. Cookies and Cream Popcorn
If you can’t find orange and black candy melts then use melted white chocolate mixed with some vegetarian food colouring, simply mix it with crushed Oreo cookies and popcorn. It’s the perfect Halloween movie snack.
