After halting its delivery service following a huge increase in orders, food-waste-fighting startup Oddbox is now accepting orders again, so you can have fresh, juicy fruit and veg delivered straight to your door.
The company released a statement saying it was now accepting new orders on a first come first serve basis. Naturally, whilst demand is still high and expected to be so for at least another 3 weeks as the UK’s lockdown has been extended, there’s a limit to the number of new orders Oddbox can take each week, so it may have to close its shop when that limit is reached. But the team is keen to keep in touch, so you can sign up to receive notifications to keep you up-to-date on supply.
In its statement, Oddbox said: “Our team has worked tirelessly over the last few weeks to reopen to new orders, and deliver a box of fresh fruit and veg to Londoner’s doorsteps.
“We want to reassure existing customers that their usual deliveries will be continuing as normal. For existing customers with no scheduled delivery, they can simply log in to their account to reactivate their subscription.”
Oddbox is London’s first and only food-waste-fighting fruit and vegetable subscription box, that rescues surplus and imperfect produce directly from farms, in addition to already packed fruit and veg that are rejected by supermarkets. To date, the social enterprise has rescued over 1.9 million kg of fruit and veg from going to waste.
The boxes are available in different sizes, and include a mix of seasonal British staples as well as international produce, trial varieties and surplus produce, depending on availability. There may be a few surprises in there too – if Oddbox can rescue it, they will!
