Advent candles
Ready in: Under 15 Mins
Minimalist beauty in no time: creating an Advent mood doesn’t take much effort. And who’s to say that you must have an Advent wreath? Beautiful bottles make perfect candle holders. Fill them with your favourite objects to create something that’s uniquely you. Project extracted from Advent by Kerstin Niehoff and Laura Fleiter. Murdoch Books, £12.99. Photography by Laura Fleiter.
Ingredients:
label printer or permanent marker/glass marker4 bottles
4 sprigs of greenery, such as eucalyptus, holly or spruce
4 candles
method:
- Use a label printer to make four labels – ‘one’, ‘two’, ‘three’ and ‘four’ – and stick them on the bottles. Alternatively, use a glass marker or permanent marker to label the bottles; white looks particularly elegant and sophisticated.
- Fill the bottles with water and place a sprig of greenery into each bottle, making sure that they are completely covered with water.
- Push the candles into the bottle openings. If necessary, use a small knife to trim the candle ends a little so that they just fit inside the bottles.
