British Broad Beans, Peas with Butter, Lemon and Black Pepper

This dish makes the perfect starter during the springtime
Ingredients:
250g fresh peas, shelled250g fresh broad beans, podded
100g butter
the zest and juice of 1 lemon
salt and cracked black pepper
method:
- Bring a medium-sized pan of salted water to the boil. Add the peas and broad beans and cook for two minutes, then drain. Set to one side. (Unless they are very young and fresh, it’s a good idea to squeeze the broad beans out of their shells once cooked.)
- In the same pan, heat the butter until just starts to brown, add the lemon zest and juice, then add the peas and beans. Season and serve.
