Fakeaway Falafel Wrap

TV chef and TikTok star, Dean Edwards, has teamed up with Love Canned Food to create this tasty cost-cutting recipe
Ingredients:
Chickpeas (2x cans)1x diced red onion
1 tsp Ginger puree
1 tsp Cumin
Salt, to taste
8g chopped coriander
4 tbsp oil
50g gram flour
Tortilla wraps
Hummus (1 tbsp per wrap)
5g spinach
200g pickled red cabbage
150g sliced red onion
200g grated carrot
Caramelised onion chutney (1 tbsp per wrap)
method:
- Dice the red onion and fry in the oil with salt until soft. Add the garlic puree, ginger puree, cumin & fry gently for two minutes and put to one side.
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas, mash with a potato masher or pulse with a food processor. Mix together the mashed chickpeas, the onion, gram flour and coriander. Shape the falafels into the desired shape (rounds or patties).
- Shallow fry the falafels in a large non stick pan and keep turning until hot in the centre or alternatively deep fry until crisp and hot in the centre. Take a tortilla wrap and spread the hummus on one side of it.
- Layer on top of the hummus: spinach, slaw, caramelised onion chutney and falafels. Wrap up and enjoy!
